Mal Lector is a framework for musical experimentations in different constellations. After a solo production in 2020, Gustavo Petek proposed in 2023 to the musician German Realini in Argentina an exchange of sound recordings, that was the starting point for further sound explorations with instruments which both had acquired recently, a bandoneon and a baritone guitar. The result is “Do Umi” (over there in austrian dialect), ten short pieces to a greater or lesser extent all recomposed through a sampler, in particular with an octatrack. A kind of soundscape that moves between the genres of experimental, folk and electronic. In 2024 received the invitation of Carrots Tapes to participate in “Phoney”, 15 compositions by poets and artists created from recordings made with mobile devices.
